Meet the Owner

Hello.

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share some background on what motivated me to start 2 Down Baseball.

Like many of you, I’ve loved baseball for as long as I can remember. My earliest memories are of trips with my parents to see games at the legendary Wrigley Field and Comiskey Park in Chicago. I played baseball from T-ball all the way through high school in a small town in West Virginia. Some questionable choices and a lack of discipline derailed any ideas I had about playing in college. Live and learn, I guess. After graduation, I kind of lost touch with the game. For almost 15 years, I had brief stints helping coach at various levels, but I never felt the same passion I had when I played.

Then my son, Easton, was born.

I had the chance to coach again when he started playing T-ball. At the time, I never would have imagined how rewarding it could be to teach little ones the game of baseball. Something clicked, and the love for the game that I once had came rushing back. I’ve coached youth baseball ever since, and I live for the smiles kids have when they’re having fun playing this great game.

I started 2 Down Baseball because I wanted to share my passion for the game with others. Initially, the idea was to create a brand. Eventually, I want to build a company that grows into a facility where I can continue teaching local youth about baseball. While that second part is still in the works, my current goal is to keep creating unique designs and offer quality clothing and equipment that baseball players of all ages can feel confident wearing—both on and off the field.

Fast forward to today: my son Easton is 9 years old and has developed a love for working on his game. My daughter, Charleigh, is 5—and I think she wants to practice baseball even more than her big brother. I’m incredibly proud of them both. My wife, Mcki, is the conductor who keeps this baseball-loving operation on the rails. She has been my biggest supporter as I chase my dream of creating a baseball brand people can be proud to wear.
